Built to outlast Michigan winters. Sold to you straight.
A licensed, insured crew that never subcontracts, and never sells you work your home doesn’t need.
Anchor Siding · St. Johns, Michigan · CertainTeed · James Hardie · LP SmartSide · Lomanco
We started Anchor to help our community, and to be honest about the work. We tell homeowners straight up what they actually need. Nothing more.
Three names are on this company: Andrew, Aaron, and Preston. We answer our own phones, we run our own crew, and we do not hand your home to a subcontractor we’ve never met.
That’s the whole idea. A roof and siding company that treats an older home the way it deserves, carefully, and without the sales pitch.

The Anchor difference.
We never subcontract.
Every siding and roofing project is handled personally by our own crew. The people who quote your job are the people on your roof.
Honest, no upsell.
If a repair will do, we’ll tell you that. We don’t take people’s money for work their home doesn’t need, that’s the reason we started.
Certified & insured.
CertainTeed, LP SmartSide, James Hardie, and Lomanco certified, fully licensed and insured, using premium materials built for Michigan seasons.
A roof and siding company that treats your home the way it deserves.
Anchor Siding is a licensed, insured, quality-vetted crew serving Lansing, East Lansing, St. Johns, and the counties around them. We install and repair roofing and siding built to handle Michigan weather, using quality materials and reliable methods, and handling every step ourselves so the results are dependable and consistent. When you hire us, you are not handing your home to a rotating cast of subcontractors. The people who quote your job are the people who show up, do the work, and clean up when it’s finished.
Our roofing services cover inspections, repairs, replacements, leak fixes, storm-damage solutions, and improved ventilation, the details that keep a home secure through heavy snow, ice, and seasonal storms. On the siding side, we prepare exterior walls properly, install durable moisture barriers, and offer material options including vinyl, engineered wood, and fiber cement. For homeowners replacing aging siding, we remove the old materials, inspect for hidden damage underneath, and rebuild with precision so nothing gets papered over. Trim, fascia, soffit, and seamless gutters round out the exterior, improving ventilation, drainage, and curb appeal with careful attention to sealing and flashing.
As James Hardie, CertainTeed, LP SmartSide, and Lomanco certified installers, we use premium materials designed for our climate, and we install them the way the manufacturers intend, not the fast way. That certification matters most in the parts of the job you never see: the underlayment, the flashing details, the ventilation math that decides whether your roof lasts twenty years or forty. We would rather do it once, correctly, than come back.
Most of all, we believe roofing and siding should be done with honesty, skill, and respect for your home. We communicate clearly, we never subcontract, and we tell you the truth about what your home needs, even when the truth is that you need less than you thought. That is the whole reason Andrew, Aaron, and Preston started this company: to give mid-Michigan homeowners a firm they can trust with the single largest thing protecting their house.

A simple, reliable process.
No pressure, no runaround, and no surprise line items at the end. Four honest steps from the first look at your roof to a finished, weather-tight home you don’t have to think about again.

A straight plan

We stand behind it
A clean site, a walkthrough, and a home built to handle heavy snow, ice, and seasonal storms for years.
The details that decide it.
A roof is made or ruined in the parts you never see. Flashing fitted by hand, gutters pitched right, seams done to spec, this is where certified work earns its name.

Questions homeowners actually ask.
No hedging. Here’s the plain version of what people want to know before they call, and you can see finished jobs in our work gallery.
How much does a new roof or siding job cost?
It depends on the size of your home, the materials, and how much of what’s already there can stay. That’s exactly why we start with a free, no-obligation look: you get an honest scope and a fair price in writing, not a number pulled out of the air. We’ll also tell you if a repair will hold instead of a full replacement, because we don’t sell work your home doesn’t need.
What’s the cost difference between metal and shingle roofing?
A metal roof typically costs more up front than architectural shingles, but it lasts far longer, often 40 to 70 years versus 20 to 30 for shingles, and it sheds Michigan snow and ice better. Shingles cost less to install and are simpler to repair one section at a time. On your free look we’ll walk you through both for your specific roof, your budget, and how long you plan to stay in the home.
How long does a roof last in Michigan?
In our climate, asphalt shingles generally last 20 to 30 years, and metal roofs 40 years or more, depending on ventilation, install quality, and how hard the freeze-thaw cycles hit. Winter snow, ice dams, and wind are what wear a Michigan roof out early. Good attic ventilation and proper flashing, the details we don’t skip, are what get you the full lifespan.
What roofing issues are most common in Michigan?
Winter snow, ice dams, wind, and heavy rain are the big culprits, they cause shingle damage, leaks, and worn flashing, which can lead to interior moisture problems if they’re not caught. We inspect the roof, find the actual cause instead of just patching the symptom, and give you repair or replacement options suited to Michigan weather.
Do you handle storm damage and insurance claims?
Yes. We frequently repair exterior damage from wind, hail, heavy snow, and falling debris, and we can walk you through the insurance claim so the paperwork doesn’t become your problem. We inspect the affected areas, confirm the structure is sound, and install long-lasting repairs. Fast work here prevents moisture intrusion and further deterioration.
Do you install fiber cement or vinyl siding?
Both, plus engineered wood. We’re James Hardie certified for fiber cement, and we also install vinyl and LP SmartSide engineered wood. Each has different strengths for durability, style, and upkeep, and we’ll help you choose based on your home and the look you’re after. We never subcontract the install; our own crew does the work.
